Frequently asked questions
Everything here is meant to help you understand TuneMe with confidence, from how it works to how your data is handled.
TuneMe is a wellness app that uses 10 seconds of your voice to create a personalized sound session designed to help you relax, unwind, and sleep better.
You record a short voice sample, and TuneMe creates a sound session based on how you sound in that moment.
From that short sound, TuneMe extracts patterns related to your current state and uses them to shape a session that feels more personal and responsive, instead of one-size-fits-all.
Your voice sample is used only to extract the features we need to personalize your session. We do not sell your voice data or use it to identify you, and details about where it is processed and how long it is kept are described in our data policy.
No. The microphone is used only when you actively start a recording in the app, and you always see when recording is on and can stop it.
By default, your voice is used only to generate your personal sessions. If anonymized voice features are ever used to improve the system, that should be clearly explained and controlled through consent settings.
We store only the minimum data needed to run the service and show your progress. We keep it only as long as necessary or required by law, and you can request deletion of your data at any time from inside the app.
No. You only need your phone and headphones.
Yes. The experience is designed to be simple, fast, and calming from the first use.
Starting takes under a minute: ten seconds to record, and your session begins. Most people feel their body settle within the first few minutes, and many fall asleep before a session ends. You can listen for as long as you like.
Any headphones or earbuds you already own will work. And no language is needed at all, you just say “Ahhh.” TuneMe reads the acoustic qualities of your voice, not your words, so it works the same in any language.
As often as you like. Many people use it nightly to fall asleep and reach for it during the day in stressful moments. Because it adapts to your voice each time, it keeps working with you rather than becoming a track you tune out.
TuneMe uses non-invasive sound frequencies, with no medication, no physical device, and no physical contact. If any sound feels uncomfortable, you can stop, lower the volume, or choose another session. If you have a medical condition, it is best to speak with your doctor before use.
At this stage, TuneMe is presented as a wellness and sleep support tool and does not replace medical care. We are continuing clinical studies and exploring future regulatory paths.
Yes. TuneMe has shown meaningful improvements in sleep and stress-related measures in research and measured outcome work, including clinical and Garmin-based studies already referenced on the site.
White noise and standard relaxation tracks are the same for everyone. TuneMe uses your voice and response patterns to tailor sound to your current state and adjust over time, making it a more responsive neuroacoustic experience rather than generic background audio.
TuneMe is built around three ideas: your voice can reflect stress-related patterns, sound can influence how the brain and body settle, and sleep is deeply affected by stress and arousal.
In many cases, TuneMe is designed to complement other approaches, not replace them. If you are under active medical or psychological care, you should speak with your clinician before changing anything in your treatment plan.
You can view or delete your data directly from the app under Settings and Privacy. You can also contact support by email to request a copy of your data or full deletion of your account.
A dedicated Science page will be available soon. Once it is ready, you will be able to continue there for a deeper look at the research and reasoning behind TuneMe.
